Miss Jenny - (Artistic Director/Owner)

Jennifer Mallios began her career as a dance educator in 1990. She is the Artistic Director and owner of N-Step Dance Center and its Competition Team.  

Jennifer grew up in Naples, Florida and began her dance training at the age of 3. She studied under well known teachers and choreographers, some of which include: Joe Tremaine, Marcia Lane, Barry Lather and Doug Caldwell. Her background is in classical ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern and hip-hop.

Jennifer is an accomplished dancer and choreographer. She has danced professionally, worked with dance conventions, choreographed for New Hampton School, Plymouth State University, University of South Florida, Collier Country School District and countless dance teams and schools throughout Florida and New England. Jennifer has also choreographed for stage and TV, including a commercial for Newport Bank.

Jennifer's choreography has earned numerous high score and choreography awards at local and national level dance competitions. She has produced numerous title holders on both the National and Regional level, and is also a judge at dance competitions.  Jennifer's students are current National title holders for both the mini and senior age divisions for Dance USA and is the producer for the current New England Young Dancer of the year for ADA.  Her students have been accepted into well known training programs including: The Boston Ballet, New York City Dance Alliance, Walnut Hill and the Tisch School of the Arts (NYU). Jennifer's school and dancers have been featured in Dance Spirit Magazine, most recently for he second time in the 2008 Studio's On The Move Yearbook.

Miss Emma 
- (Teacher)
Emma has had the privilege of receiving her training from some of the most experienced teachers in the New England area. It was with the help and guidance of her teachers that she earned the opportunity to study with The Joffrey Ballet in New York and The Royal Academy of Dance in London. 

Emma has been dancing since the age of three and has trained under well known teachers such as David Howard, Peter Schabel, Herida Mae, John Magus, Andy Blankenbuhler, Katherine Sullivan, Winthrop Corey, Zelma Bustillo and many more.

As well as dance, Emma also has experience in theater. She has participated in numerous plays and musical productions. Along with teaching dance, she passes on her experience on the stage to her students.

Emma has been formally teaching dance since 1999. She teaches Ballet, Tap, and Contemporary and also choreographs for the competition team. Many of her students have received multiple high score awards and have won regional and national titles. In 2007 alone, Emma received 6 Outstanding Choreography awards for her work with our students. Emma's choreography ("Sau Gan") can be seen on www.vipdanceonline.com. Her students have also been accepted into numerous training programs including The Boston Ballet, New York City Dance Alliance, Walnut Hill and the Tisch School of the Arts (NYU). Emma is excited to be adding the role of adjudicator to her resume in 2008!

Emma believes in passing on her love of dance by not only educating her students in the discipline of their choice, but also in the rich history of the art in a nurturing yet structured environment. Emma is looking forward to another great year of meeting new students and continuing to further your child's dance education.


Miss Meghan  (Teacher / Office Manager)
Meghan has been dancing since the age of two and competitively since the age of eight. Meghan is an alumni of N-Step where she studied Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Lyrical and Musical Theater. She has received numerous high scores and judges awards, and in 2002, under the direction of Jennifer Mallios and Emma Moschella, she was awarded the "Miss Sophisticated" title at the regional competition. Meghan has performed in many plays and musicals for local theaters and has performed at Disney World twice. In 2005, she was selected to be part of the Manchester Wolves Dance Team, which received 3rd overall out of all the professional U.S dance teams. Meghan began teaching in 2001. Meghan teaches Tiny Tots,Pre-Dance, Tap, Jazz, Ballet and choreographs for our competition team. 


Miss Angela
-
Miss Angela has been dancing since the age of 12. While in High School she was on the varsity cheerleading squad. During her down time and competition she helped choreograph the teams dance routines which led to regional titles.

Miss Angela created her first Hip-Hop dance workout video in 1999. She was lucky enough to travel to camp in Maryland to counsel 12 year old girls. There she taught the campers dance and organized a talent show for the camp.

Miss Angela has also danced and choreographed music videos for upcoming artists The Rhythm Merchant & SLSystematic to be seen on MTV2. With her life experiences as well as dance, Miss Angela will incorporate a new twist in the Hip-Hop generation.





Miss Janice  - Miss Janice started dance and sports at the age of  two.   Her youth was filled with many accolades succeeding in All state and  All conference and New England's in an array of sports.  She went to UK on an athletic scholarship where she trained with the world famous  fitness trainer Pat Etcheberry.  There she also was on the dance company where they traveled and performed  and had the honor to study with such greats as Sara Rudner.   She took her dance further in NYC with many master classes, continuing with Sara Rudner and also at the Alvin Ailey School.

 

Her fitness training took her further into Body Building where she won numerous competitions and qualified to compete at the national Level. 

 

Miss Janice  has a very diverse field of knowledge in both fields of dance and fitness,

From being a horse fitness trainer to training the young and not so young in fitness and in health.

 

Janice is looking to further all of our education in a very healthy and happy life~


Miss Janet - Miss Janet has studied with the Boston Ballet, The Boston Conservatory, and also many other ballet masters including: David Howard, Joseph Giocobbi, and Jose Mateo to name a few.  She previously owned a school in the New England area for 18 years and has since been sharing her extensive knowledge with students in the local area.  Because of her technical training many of her dancers have gone on to win such titles as: Miss DMA, Jr. Miss, and Petite Miss with the New England Chapter. Her students have also won numerous titles, high scores, and best technique awards at prestigious competitions such as ADA and IDC.

 Miss Janet will be teaching advanced and inter. level ballet.  We are delighted to have Miss Janet at N-Step and look forward to all she has to share with our Family!

Miss Michelle  - Miss Michelle has been teaching all levels and forms of dance for the past 10 years.  She is a member of the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston, performed in Boston's Tap Festival in 2002, was a member of the Manchester Wolves from 2005-2007, and has taught for the Boston Ballet summer program. 

Miss Michelle teaches , tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop. We are excited to welcome Miss Michelle and her energetic style to our N-Step Family!

Miss Lindsay
Lindsay has been dancing for twelve years and ten of those years she has danced competitively. She has studied jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap, contemporary, hip hop and pointe.

Lindsay has received numerous title, high score and special awards at both regional and national competitions. She has also trained with the Boston Ballet and NYCDA's Summer Intensive. Lindsay has had the privilege to perform at Walt Disney World and attend master class with the world famous Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. In the summer of 2003, she was also a member of the "Sophisticated National Dance Team". Most recently, Lindsay was awarded the "Future Star Award" sponsored by Dance Spirit Magazine as was featured in a recent issue. Also, while attending our 2007 Nationals, Lindsay was crowned Miss Dance of the United States.

Lindsay has been assistant teaching for six years and this will be her second year teaching her own classes. Lindsay will be teaching Lyrical and Jazz as well as assisting in Tiny Tots & Pre-Dance classes. Lindsay is a Senior at Memorial High School where she is an active member of the Student Council.

Ashley Smith
Ashley took her first dance class at the age of two and a half, and has been dancing ever since. From her original disciplines of Ballet and Tap, she has branched out in her studies to include Lyrical, Jazz, Modern, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre and Partnering. 

At the age of six, Ashley began competing. Since then she has been awarded many high scores, special awards, scholarships and titles at various regional and national dance competitions. Such scholarships include the "Convention Triple Threat" Award, a Ballet Scholarship, and two runner-up "Senior Outstanding Dancer" Scholarships at New York City Dance Alliance. She has also had the opportunity to attend the prestigious summer intensives offered by The Boston Ballet and NYCDA. 

Ashley loves children of all ages and uses this love and understanding to reach out to her students. She also engages their imagination to help them understand ways to think outside the box. Ashley strives to transfer her great love of dance to all of her students and hopes they all grow to love dance in their own way.
